Help 4 HD, established in 2013, seeks to educate people about Huntington's disease and Juvenile Huntington's disease. Huntington’s disease is a genetic and ultimately fatal brain disorder that affects movement, thought, and behavior. More than 30,000 Americans are diagnosed and over 250,000 are at risk.
Through education resources and live events, Help 4 HD aims to assist families, provide caregiver support and help affected individuals who are sick and isolated. Help 4 HD also works to establish strong roots in underserved communities, seek out new underserved areas to support and connect credible care professionals with communities.
Help 4 HD envisions a world where everyone knows about Huntington’s disease and Juvenile Huntington's disease. Katie Jackson, President and CEO of Help 4 HD, says, “We fight to be the last generation to live with Huntington's disease, the way our generation and past generations have been forced to do.”
The Movement Disorders Policy Coalition is proud to join forces with Help 4 HD – during Huntington’s Disease Awareness Month, Huntington’s Disease Awareness Day and beyond – to advocate for patients and policies that support better care.
